Do you think spiritual warfare means shouting at demons, wild exorcisms and
weirdness? Have you been sure there was something in the dark of night that scared you, but you could not see it? Have you heard voices that were not human condemning or threatening you? You can't avoid being in a war, but you don't need to lose it. The Short Course in Spiritual Weapons, Second Edition, ISBN 978-0-9639644-7-2, teaches you to use weapons and methods unlike the world's ideas, such as
forgiving your enemies, asking forgiveness from others,
blessing those who curse you, and repenting.
The spiritual battleground
we live in may go unseen because the race has been spiritually blinded. We don't
have to stay blind or helpless. The cure is a work of the creator of the
universe.
Jesus of Nazareth, only begotten son of God, announced that the Kingdom
of God was at hand during His earthly life. Human and spiritual
enemies recognize this as a declaration of war. They fight back. Apparently Father God allows evil and darkness to continue so
that Christians can become His partners in battling wickedness, freeing
sin's slaves and captives, and healing human spiritual blindness.
Your stance isn't meant to be purely defensive while angels battle the forces of
evil. You are offered active roles in destroying the works of darkness.
If you refuse to fight, you reject an opportunity for fellowship with God
and His adopted children.
This book introduces you to standing orders for
God's human army. It describes 14 offensive weapons which halt Satan's
schemes, release his captives, derail his projects, and confuse his
servants. It also surveys defensive weapons and tactics. A good offense,
keeping the enemy off balance, is the first of several recommendations.
Drills are prescribed for many of the weapons. A few have no specified
drills because we cannot arrange encounters with some forms of evil.
You should not wait to put on the armor of God described in
Ephesians 6 until a battle begins. You should wear it constantly, the
author says.
The book grew out of experience coping with spiritual forces encountered as a religion editor snd spiritual warrior and
using the weapons.
